Interviewed by Adeesh Sharma
Mr. Sanjeev Sehgal, Founder & Managing
Director, Sparsh CCTV talks about the focus of his organization with regard to
security of corporate assets, post-STQC augmentation of IT infrastructure
across industries, role of AI in enhancing the functionality of security
products, key target industries for their organization and new innovations in
the Security domain.
1. Please share the focus areas of your
organization with regard to security of corporate assets.
At Sparsh CCTV, our approach to corporate asset
security goes beyond conventional video surveillance. We focus on helping
organizations build a comprehensive security ecosystem that combines reliable
surveillance hardware, intelligent analytics, secure video management, and
centralized monitoring – a full stack solution designed, developed and
manufactured in India.
Our solutions are designed to address key
enterprise requirements, including perimeter protection, intrusion detection,
access-point monitoring, asset and inventory oversight, incident detection, and
real-time situational awareness. Through AI-enabled video analytics and
integrated command-and-control capabilities, organizations can improve
visibility across their premises, identify potential risks faster, and support
informed decision-making.
Equally important is the security of the
surveillance infrastructure itself. Our focus on indigenous design, in-house
R&D, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity-conscious product development
supports organizations in building trusted surveillance environments. We aim to
help enterprises protect their physical assets, operational continuity, and
sensitive surveillance data through solutions tailored to their specific risk
profiles.
2. Post-STQC compliance, how secure should
an end-user feel with regard to deployment of your products within the IT
infrastructure of an organization?
STQC compliance represents an important
milestone in strengthening trust, quality, and cybersecurity assurance in
India's video surveillance ecosystem. At Sparsh CCTV, we view compliance as an
integral part of product engineering and not merely a regulatory checkpoint. As
the recipient of the first STQC certificate in the world, it reflects our
commitment to developing surveillance solutions aligned with India's evolving
security and compliance requirements.
However, securing an enterprise surveillance
environment requires a layered approach. Alongside selecting appropriately
certified products, organizations should assess network segmentation, access
controls, authentication, firmware updates, secure configuration, data
retention, and integration with their existing IT security policies.
Our objective is to provide organizations with
a trusted foundation for surveillance deployment through indigenous technology,
compliance-led product development, and a continued focus on data integrity and
cybersecurity. When supported by appropriate deployment practices, these
measures can significantly strengthen the security posture of an organization's
surveillance infrastructure.
3. AI is the buzzword for all technology-related
products now. Kindly share how your organization has embedded it as part of its
portfolio.
AI is an important part of our evolution from
conventional video recording towards intelligent, actionable surveillance. Our
focus is on applying AI to practical security and operational challenges rather
than treating it as an isolated product feature.
Our portfolio includes AI-enabled video
analytics for applications such as human and vehicle detection, intrusion
detection, facial recognition, object monitoring, and traffic-related use
cases, depending on the solution and deployment requirements. These
capabilities can help organizations identify relevant events, improve
situational awareness, and reduce dependence on continuous manual monitoring.
We are also expanding our focus on Edge
intelligence, integrated video management, and connected security ecosystems.
Processing relevant information closer to the source can support faster event
detection and more efficient use of network resources, depending on the
application architecture.
This broader vision is reflected in Securi-Tech™
Intelligence by Sparsh, our unified intelligence layer across the Sparsh
ecosystem. It brings together cameras, edge AI, software platforms, cloud
capabilities, command centres, and AI-powered experiences to help organizations
move from passive surveillance towards more intelligent security operations.
For us, the true
value of AI lies in its ability to convert video data into meaningful insights
that support timely action, operational efficiency, and safer environments.
4. What key industries are you targeting
with your product range this year?
Our focus is on industries and market segments
where reliable surveillance, intelligent monitoring, and operational visibility
are essential to safety, business continuity, and efficient management.
Key focus sectors include:
-
Transportation
and Railways: Integrated surveillance,
tunnel and bridge monitoring, traffic analytics, and command-and-control
solutions.
-
Government
and Smart Cities: Public safety,
intelligent traffic management, city surveillance, and integrated
monitoring infrastructure.
- Manufacturing
and Industrial Facilities: Perimeter
security, process monitoring, intrusion detection, and operational
oversight.
- Defence
and Critical Infrastructure:
Application-specific surveillance for demanding environments, including
specialized camera systems and advanced monitoring solutions.
- Enterprise
and Commercial Facilities: Security for
corporate campuses, offices, warehouses, logistics facilities, and large
commercial premises.
- Retail:
Surveillance solutions for retail outlets, shopping centres, and organized
retail environments, supporting store security, loss prevention, and
operational visibility.
- SOHO
(Small Office/Home Office): Compact,
easy-to-deploy surveillance solutions designed to meet the security needs
of small businesses, offices, and home-based workspaces.
-
Education and
Healthcare: Campus safety, facility monitoring, and integrated surveillance for
institutional environments.
Our experience with complex infrastructure
projects, including the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL),
reinforces our ability to address demanding deployment requirements through
integrated surveillance technologies.
As organizations across these segments
increasingly seek secure, intelligent, and scalable solutions, our focus
remains on combining indigenous manufacturing, application-led engineering, and
AI-enabled capabilities to meet the specific requirements of each sector.
5. Any innovations you would like to
highlight for the benefit of the security fraternity?
One of the most significant developments in our
journey is Securi-Tech™ Intelligence by Sparsh, which represents our
approach to bringing intelligence across the surveillance ecosystem rather than
limiting it to individual devices. By connecting cameras, edge AI, video
management, cloud platforms, and command-and-control capabilities, we are
working towards systems that help security teams identify relevant events,
interpret information, and respond more effectively.
Our work across complex railway environments
demonstrates how surveillance can extend beyond conventional monitoring to
support applications such as fire and smoke detection, abandoned-object
monitoring, train-speed analytics, and integrated operational visibility.
Another important area is indigenous product
development. We believe innovation must encompass product design, embedded
intelligence, cybersecurity, manufacturing capabilities, and control over
critical technology components. Our investment in in-house R&D and
compliance-led engineering supports this long-term objective.
