After organizing the first edition in 2023, Informa Markets in India, the organisers of IFSEC India (South Asia's largest security expo and conference held annually in New Delhi since 2007) organised the second edition of SAFE West India from May 9-11, 2024 at Hall 2, Bombay Exhibition Centre. It is an annual security exhibition cum conference dedicated to the West Indian market where the latest security products and solutions specifically targeted to the Western Indian markets in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh were showcased. The event hosted industry buyers and decision makers from private and public enterprises across manufacturing, BFSI, pharma, shipping, hotels, telecom, IT and other prominent verticals, alongwith key end-user community in the security domain.

IFSEC India is part of the world-renowned IFSEC Global Expos umbrella which include shows such as IFSEC International UK, FIREX International, IFSEC Philippines, IFSEC Bangladesh and SECON.
Informa Markets in India also organises Security & Fire Expo (SAFE) South India Expo, which is South India’s largest electronic, industrial and homeland security show, across prominent cities in South India as part of a strategy to take security products and technologies closer to the South Indian markets. The show has successfully witnessed seven successful expos in Chennai and Hyderabad.
India electronic security market is expected to register a robust growth post pandemic. The numerous terrorist attacks and security breaches over the last twenty-five years in country with a population of over a billion people and high levels of mass poverty, multiple religions, languages, and ethnicities, security is a significant threat in India. As such, Indian law enforcement agencies and commercial establishments need tools that aid them in tackling crime and terrorism. Such devices can include efficient video surveillance equipment, facial recognition, access control devices, perimeter protection equipment, GPS trackers, etc.
Security Market in Western India
State governments in India, especially in the Western region given the nature of external security threats, are increasingly adopting video surveillance equipment to improve security and safety. For instance, The Maharashtra government is primarily focusing on enhancing surveillance on the streets to upgrade Mumbai's safety. It has asked enterprises, public sectors, and individuals to install video surveillance and access control equipment across various cities in Maharashtra. More than ten lakh IP cameras are expected to be installed across the entire western Indian region in the next few years.
Most urban cities in the region will have cameras to perform general surveillance and traffic management. High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (UHD) cameras will be deployed in traffic junctions, sending video feeds to monitoring centers. The setup will use the Optical Fiber Backbone using robust ring network topology with state police agencies identifying spots for the installation of the cameras based on GIS mapping of crimes. As part of smart cities project, the video surveillance cameras come equipped with the AI-enabled version called 'Smart Eyes,' which can detect abnormal human behavior. The camera can also identify a drastic increase in the number of people at location and alert police.
The market has witnessed a change with the increased acceptance and adoption of IP cameras. The rapid transition from analog cameras to IP cameras has revolutionized the adoption of video surveillance solutions, including sharper, high-definition digital images, and advancement in video analytics and neuro networks. As IP cameras transmit genuinely digital signals, they offer greater video detail, making them more suitable for facial recognition or detecting license plate numbers. The rise in production has also led to a decrease in prices and increasingly widespread adoption. With the integration of software solutions into video surveillance, it is now possible to detect unexpected and unattended objects or packages, line crossing, path tracking, etc.
