Informa Markets in India, the organisers of IFSEC (South Asia's largest security expo and conference held annually in New Delhi since 2007) successfully organized the 8th edition of SAFE South India (https://www.safeindiaexpo.com) on 5-6 July 2024 at Chennai Trade Centre. It is an annual security exhibition cum conference dedicated to the South Indian markets.
SAFE South India showcases cutting edge products like CCTV & video surveillance, biometrics & RFID, Integrated systems, access control, cyber security, integrated systems, physical security, perimeter protection, fire detection systems and intruder alarms. The event hosted 3,977 industry buyers and decision makers, including key government officials, to review the latest products and innovations, build business partnerships, conduct business and make purchases.

Conference: Emerging Security Threats in the New Normal
The world is increasingly moving towards an era of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in security and surveillance systems. Deep Learning takes it a step further with by enabling even more powerful analytics to recognise suspicious activity without much human supervision.
The benefits of Deep learning for face recognition and image classification make it extremely valuable in the field of security as facial recognition allows for easy identification of suspects, vehicle detection, and also behaviour analysis. So, rather than remaining reactive the security and surveillance systems are evolving to become more proactive in nature.
Security analysts are of the opinion that the rise in terrorist activities, growing crime rates, data thefts, remote monitoring, growth of public infrastructure, increasing IT spending, government initiatives and increasing security spending are all boosting markets for security systems and technologies in India.
As ICT gets tightly embedded into security and surveillance systems, more and more cyber attacks are targeted towards hacking into such systems and wreak havoc. The architecture around IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics is yet to mature in security systems and it is this very loophole that cyber criminals are trying to exploit.
