Please tell us about your professional journey and your role in the current organization?

I am Maj Nanu Ram Choudhary, CPP®, an Indian Army veteran with over 20 years of experience in security management, crisis response, counter-insurgency operations, and strategic leadership.

During my tenure in the Indian Army, I led high-stakes security operations, managed crisis situations, and collaborated with law enforcement agencies to mitigate risks in complex environments. In 2010, I had the unique opportunity to be part of the Commonwealth Games organizing committee while posted at the Ministry of Defence, where I gained firsthand experience in event security and high-profile risk management.

After my military service, I transitioned into the corporate security sector, where I leveraged my expertise to enhance security frameworks in the private domain. To strengthen my global security management credentials, I also earned the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) certification from ASIS International , USA.

Currently, I serve as the Chief Security Officer at Jaypee Greens, a 1,100-acre real estate and infrastructure project in Greater Noida under Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. My role involves:

• Leading a 300+ security force to safeguard 5,100+ residents and critical infrastructure.
• Implementing advanced security systems, including surveillance, access control, and intelligence-led operations.
• Coordinating with law enforcement agencies to prevent crime, encroachments, and security breaches.
• Managing crisis response teams, ensuring fire safety, and fortifying disaster preparedness.
• Enhancing customer satisfaction through soft skills training, security automation, and rapid response mechanisms.

In today’s evolving security landscape, technology, intelligence, and proactive risk mitigation play a crucial role. Through my journey—from military operations to corporate security—I have witnessed the transformational shift in security strategies and the growing need for collaboration between private and public security forces.

What are the key security challenges you face, and how do you plan to alleviate them?

1. Access Control & Unauthorized Entry

Challenge: Managing entry/exit of over 5,100 residents, visitors, laborers, and service personnel while preventing unauthorized access.

Mitigation:
o Implementing advanced access control systems (RFID, biometric, ANPR, auto boom barriers).
o Strengthening visitor management through digital pass systems and pre-registration apps.
o Enhancing security checkpoints with stricter ID verification and surveillance.

2. Rising Crime & Theft Prevention

Challenge: Risks of petty thefts, burglaries, vehicle thefts, and organized crime targeting high-value properties.

Mitigation:
o Deploying intelligence-based security measures to track crime patterns.
o Strengthening CCTV surveillance coverage with AI-driven analytics for anomaly detection.
o Conducting regular security audits and engaging local law enforcement.
o Mobilizing Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) for rapid response.

3. Encroachment & Land Security

Challenge: Illegal encroachment attempts on vacant plots and under-construction areas.

Mitigation:
o Close coordination with local authorities & police to take legal action.
o Patrolling & fencing of vulnerable areas to deter unauthorized occupation.
o Deploying drone surveillance for real-time monitoring.

4. Emergency & Crisis Management

Challenge: Handling fire incidents, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and civil disturbances.

Mitigation:

o Establishing a Crisis Management Committee and conducting mock drills.
o Enhancing fire safety infrastructure (hydrants, alarms, trained fire response teams).
o Strengthening emergency communication protocols through SOCs & mobile alerts.
